Parents living in Moncton, Dieppe, Memramcook, Shediac, Cap-Pele and the
surrounding areas can (according to certain criteria) benefit from early intervention services
starting when their child is born, or at any other time deemed necessary, until the child goes to
kindergarten.

The Provincial Early Intervention Services Standard describe three categories of
characteristics which can hinder a child’s development. The children eligible for early
intervention services will thus fall within one or more of the following categories of risk factors:

Congenital or acquired health factors (genetic and chromosonal syndromes,
neurological disorders ...)

B- |
Developmental factors (birth trauma, prematurity, general acquired
developmental challenges [due to injury or illness]...)

C- |
Family interaction factors (any stress that could hinder optimum
development of the family and/or the child)
